We publish the real millage for all 236 Metro Detroit cities and 203 school districts — with housing stock, lead and radon — plus the calculators that turn it into your number. Free, and built on official state data.

112 of the 203 districts span more than one municipality, and the local millage stacked on top varies by up to 26 mills between them. Taylor School District runs 27.5563 mills in Brownstown Township and 54.1387 in Inkster — $4,652 a year on a $350,000 home, for children in the identical schools. Almost nobody checks this before writing an offer.
